Durability has improved noticeably. Battery life remains a trade-off. Larger inner displays draw more power, and the slim hinge area limits battery cell size. Most users report comfortable all-day use, but heavy gamers or video creators should plan around mid-day top-ups.

Software is the other half of the story. Manufacturers have refined gestures for splitting apps, dragging content between windows, and using the cover screen as a viewfinder for the main camera. These touches turn the form factor from a gimmick into a genuine productivity edge.

If you're considering a switch, ask yourself how often you'd actually unfold the device. Readers, multitaskers, and travelers tend to get the most value. If you mostly text and scroll feeds, a great traditional phone may still be the better deal.
