A smart ring is a tiny, sealed computer worn on the finger. Despite weighing only a few grams, it can continuously track heart rate, blood-oxygen estimates, skin temperature, movement and sleep — using exactly the same optical technique a hospital pulse oximeter uses on your fingertip. [1][2][6]

## 1. Why the finger is such a good place to measure
